Star Pillow Cover

Trama Textiles x DittoHouse

The Star Pillow Cover was handwoven on a back strap* loom by Fabiana, Maria, Regina and Magdalena, Mam speakers, in SacatƩpequez, Guatemala. The cutest little face emerges from pointillism like stitches that were woven using the quintessential bordado (brocade) method indicative of Mayan weaving. Created with an ancient weaving method, the Star pillow cover is a modern burst of joy that somehow travels in time- it is both past and present, then and now, here and there.

Optical Movement Throw Blanket
$195.00

The Optical Movement Throw blanket was created as a personal challenge. I wanted to see how much optical activity I could get with only 4 yarn colors. I created the design and was thrilled to see that juxtaposing diagonal lines created the illusion of so many more than 4 colors. As color maestro Josef Albers says ā€œWe experience the fact that color and seeing color depends on its juxtaposition with other colors, its shape, its placement, and especially upon its quantity. All of which is to say that any one color has innumerable looks.ā€

The Optical Movement Throw is knitted in the USA with sustainable fibers.

  • 50 x 60 inches

  • Machine Wash on Delicate and Line Dry

  • 80% Recycled Cotton / 20% Polyester

Mega Dot Throw Blanket in Red-Orange and Blue
$195.00

The Mega Dot Throw Blanket features alternating and black and white stripe ground with a blue and red/orange mega dot which appears to bounce forth. The mega dot is made up of alternating blueand red/orange stripes that blend together from afar and create a rhythmic pattern up close. Magnificently, the pattern alternates half way through to create a color change, while using the same yarn colors, only varying the width of the stripes. One of the most exciting parts of this design is where the vertical lines change from black, to blue, to red orange and back to black again in perfect order..

Double Dot Pillow Cover
$95.00

The Double Dot Pillow Cover is seriously FUN! Using the time honored techniques of the Op-Art greats, diagonal lines interact with complimentary colored dots. Is the blue diagonal intersecting the green and red/orange dots the same color blue that is used next to the black diagonal?!? Sure is!! It is wonderful how our eyes and brains perceive color. This design is like a bold chameleon that looks mysteriously perfect wherever it lands!

The Double Dot Pillow Cover pillow cover is knitted in the USA with sustainable fibers. Pillow insert not included.

ā€œI’m thrilled to partner with Trama Textiles for many reasons; They are the best weavers in the world and the dedicated preservationists of their craft and culture. The organization is founded and run by Indigenous women and 100% worker owned- they are a model of what could be in American business- an organized, empowering, sustainable cooperative. Their organization is incredibly charitable- they take care of their members and are intent on improving the outlook of the next generation.

What Trama Textiles models is what I dream of for my business and family- preserving and respecting the craft that I love, while treating others with respect and compassion. If all businesses operated with the care that Trama does, the world would be a beautiful place. Oralia and Amparo are excellent role models, I am lucky to have the opportunity to work with them.ā€
